California car?

Is there a way to tell from the VIN if a car is a 'US' car or a 'California' car?

The VIN I'm looking at is an 87 Carrera Coupe:
WP0AB0914HS121835.

I need to order the engine compartment stickers and the differentiate between US and California...

(or is there any other way to tell?)

Certificate of authenticity from Porsche? Just a guess, but at least for an older car, I bet the destination is part of that info.

Very interesting... I had no idea that there was a California version.

I'll need to break out the microfiche.

Ahh, located the option tag on the underside of the hood. First code is C03. Thanks for the info!

Wow none of my manuals says anything about there being a California spec dme. There are two u.s. versions one for u.s. spec cars with cats and one for us spec cars with the sport package?
