Targa Rear Glass Pics needed.

Need some help from the community.
My new to me Targa is at the body shop getting a re-spray after a minor fender bender. (Actually rear bumper!)

Everything is about 99% complete and fine except the rear edge of the rear glass seems like it was pushed down too far. My guess is that it's about 1/4 too far. I know these are hard to install, and they didn't have an easy time, but I haven't herd anyone with this story yet.

They are getting frustrated and I am starting to hear overtones like "this may be the best we can do" .... "The glass guy said something was funky with the seal"..

This was a new seal purchased from our host. (Anyone have had problems with seals before?)

Before I counter, I'd like to get some info and pictures together..
Please help. I wish I had a picture, but I won't be able to get one for a day or so.
I have one picture, but it's not that usefull.

I figured that someone here probably has one handy....

I think it's possible, that they pushed the glass in beyond the edge of the lip on the body and that because it's such a tight fit that it's locked in place. They said that they took the whole glass out and tried again, but I only half believe that. I'm sure they don't want to go thru the missery again.

Thanks for the help!

Here's one "Before" picture which isn't that great or clear. I really need a few from the side showing the glass in relation to the rear deck. My guess is that the glass should almost be even with the deck and only the rubber gasket and the black metal trim piece raised above that.

Mine is an '89. Hopefully it's the same and these will work.

Thanks the 1st picture is what I'm looking for.
Your glass seems pushed in just a bit. As I recall mine was pushed down even further, maybe 1/8 - 1/4"

Anybody have more pictures of this same thing and better yet.. Anybody know if there is something that should keep it from going down too far?

It seems like they could pull the glass and do it again, but what would keep it from doing the same thing.
I did notice that they didn't have the de-frost wires tucked into the seal as I have herd it was supposed to be. Would this have something to do with it?

I'm not sure if my 75 is the same as yours but when the paint shop was putting mine back together they had a terrible time getting it in as well. The finally figured out that they needed to take a piece of metal trim off the car in order to get the window to slide in and be seated correctly.

BTW, this is on an 81. I think most of the middle years are mostly the same except for some trim.

I saw the car with all the trim, Targa bar and interior removed so they had the best conditions to work in. I also printed a bunch of tips from this BBS so that they would know some of the problems people faced. I just haven't encountered this situation yet nor have I seen anything on this board about it.

I don't think it's right and want to show them several other cars to support my cause. Also a solution if there is one.

Anyone else with some pictures would sure help.
Thanks!
