Shipping a car to Norway

I have an individual interested in buying my 71 911E (listed in the Classifieds); he happens to be in Norway. He's legit. Anyone have any idea who I would contact re: getting the car shipped there? Thanks for any advice.

regards,
Hans (Atlanta, GA)

I used Shipoverseas.com to ship my 550 spyder replica, who is an agent for carriers. They ship around the world, so it shouldn't be a problem.

The problem I ran into was that they left the car in a very very cold storage area for a long time while it cleared customs. During that time the battery went dead. Once this happens you can no longer go with a drive-on service, and the car had to be put in a container.

Oh, and one more thing, once the car leaves you at port, it's THEIR car, make sure of that. Otherwise, you may be liable for the customs fun. In other words, sell the car and get it completely settled before delivering "THEIR" car to the port.

Good luck

Also, don't leave anything in the car at all. If you are selling it with spares or any extras even the manual or the tool kit, ship them seperately or they may fall victim to bored sailors.

I always like the missing stuff , and the shipping lines allow it by puting in the disclaimer,

Maybe they need to hire honest people !

It would be interesting to see what this would cost from your location

I'm shipping my newly aquired 911 from LA right now - and will pick it up in Oslo for 1050 usd plus local taxes ++
Not bad at all if you ask me.....

Eivind,
Who is the shipper and freight forwarder? That is a great price, its about what I paid NY/NJ to Bremmerhaven. The guy shipping from Atlanta could pay more if he picks the wrong f/f or shipper. Also it is not just the distance, but the location as well.
Funny, shipping my car back from Bremmerhaven to NY was about 280$ cheaper. I asked the guy why and he said: There is no Mafia here. Hmmm.

Hehe - California Shipping - I've used them a few times with no complaints - even with the cars filled with booze and other goodies (stereo systems+++++)
