Someone on the board had inserted SS screen in the valance cut out to protect their oil cooler. I think the post said they would sell some cut to fit your needs.

Pegasus Racing (among other sources) carries stainless steel mesh in a variety of mesh size - very rigid. I wouldn'ot recommend chicken wire or other galvanized mesh since they're more susceptible to a hard rock hit. Avoid perforated designs as the airflow characteristics aren't too great.

I am using a part of a plastic deck lid grill.
In the picture I was deciding which lights to use (Cibie Tango or Oscar I decided Oscars). ![]() |

I went to McMaster Carr
http://www.mcmaster.com/ You can really get anything you want. I ordered the following Plain Steel Standard Grade Woven Wire Cloth 8 X 8 Mesh, .025" Wire Diameter, 36" Width Cost me less than $10 shipped. So really you can choose different mesh and finish so that you get exactly what you are after. |

Thanks or the McMaster-Carr tip, I should've thought to look there. I was ready to order some mesh from Pegasus, it was about $30 for a big piece of mesh but the shipping was over $20 so I didn't order it; I should save a few buck going with McMaster.

I use a custom plastic grill similar to the rear deck equipment and expanded alumium (painted black) behind. Has proven to be very durable and allows quite a bit of air to pass.
