Rear Seat Bottom Recovering
My '83 SC Restoration is nearly complete, except for the rear seat bottoms. Has anyone here recovered the seat bottoms? Any thoughts/suggestions/warnings/input?

I did it last summer. Do you have the rear seat recover kit from World Upholstery, Appbiz, etc.? All you have for the bottoms is a flat piece of vinyl, cut to shape. If you want it to look stock you'll have to have the type with the padding and seams sewn in. Remove the old covers and use them as a template if you're going to cut your own. To attach the new ones I cut some cardboard pieces to fit on the bottom, then wrapped the new covers around and glued them to the cardboard with contact cement. Do the folds the same way as the originals. Piece o' cake.

Thanks for the insight. I hope I can find a recover kit for the rear seats only. It looks simple but It is good to get some real world experience.
Thanks |
