Red face Mad Reassembly!

Here is my dilemma. My company is relocating my family to the Irvine, CA area for at least a couple of years. They have agreed to move two cars for us. We have a PT Cruiser, The Baja and the 911 Targa. The Baja won't be making the trip. The problem is the 911 is in pieces. I took it apart and painted it and now it needs put back together. We are moving sometime in June.

I need help in a bad way. If any of you guys can come over and help I would be eternally grateful. Maybe we can set up a weekend and knock it out in a day or two.

We still have alot of work to do to the house to get it ready to sell I need all the help I can get. So what do you say? Help a brother out? PLEASE....?

For the record if you don't get it all together back in MI, you can count on a very nice group of guys down here, we have a group called the SOCG with about 25+ members and most of us will be glad to help out. Good luck.

And if you do get it all together, keep an eye out for invitiations to our drives.

Shawn,

Try picking a few dates. I may be able to make a weekend trip down if we can get a few Gruppe B guys from West Michigan and the Chicago area I bet we can get a lot done in a short period of time.

So you are really moving to southern CA. What a great move away from here. I doubt you will be back unless you miss the snow and cheap housing. Anyway, if I can come over for the mad reassembly party I will.

Brian,
That would be cool. I am working out my calendar now. We just have to fix up and sell our house, make multiple trips to CA for business, and possibly rebuild the trans in the BAJA by mid-June. No worries….

Looks like next weekend I will probably be in California. This weekend we have family from Baltimore showing up. How does April 22nd/23rd look? Hopefully we get a nice day so I can paint the bits and pieces.

He's coming from Michigan, I doubt he will notice the difference.

Actually Northern Indiana. Around here if you live in Southern Michigan or Northern Indiana it is called “Michiana”.

You need to offer beer and food, preferrably from the meat family.

Have a cooler and a grill going, and enjoy it as you go! I hope you pull the assembly day/weekend off! Get some pictures of the 'event'!

Good luck. I spent 5 weeks in the Irvine area a few years back. It's an attractive area and close to LA/Hollywood/etc... Lots of stuff to see and do.

Good luck putting the car together. I'm sure with the help you'll do it easy. Good luck in Cali, hopefully you find a decent place to live that doesn't cost too much (relative to Cali), avoid a catastrophic, earthquake, wildfire, and mud slide. Enjoy the sun, sights and weather. I think that area is Porsche-centric for this hemisphere.

Oh there's lots to see and do....but close to L.A.? Technically yes but unless you are commuting at midnight to 3a.m. be prepared for serious traffic....always...all freeways.

Hopefully we'll see you at a SOCG run.
