SAE Fuel Hose OK for Brake Reservoir?

My 78 911 is mostly done with brake caliper rebuild and new master cylinder. When the old MC came out I cut and tossed the old lines from the reservoir to the MC; I am sure they were OEM from 1978 and a bit crusty, anyway.

The local parts store did not have "brake reservoir" line per se, so I got some SAE hose for low pressure fuel line use. Does anyone know if this is OK? I figured that brake fluid probably cannot be any worse than gas, although on the other hand it does eat paint. At worst, I could probably install it and check annually for condition.....

Once she's back off the jack stands I can take and post a pic. Even better - I can drive !
