911 SC fog light question

I bought some used SC OEM fog lights to replace the cheap ones the PO put on. Before I start drilling the valence I've got questions. Currently in my valence there is one large hole and one small hole below it for each fog light. For the stock fog lights it looks like I need 4 (?!?) holes for each - one large one, 2 smaller ones for the hex bolts and another one for the wiring? Do the smaller ones for the hex bolts go to the left and right of the large hole or top and bottom?

Some external fog lights use one large hole for everything: The center shaft is hollow for the wires and is threaded on the outside for the large nut to tie the whole assembly to the valance.
Some types are mounted onto the valance with a center bolt and then have a seperate smaller hole for the wires.
It sounds like the PO drilled some holes already which may not fit your new lights. You have to decide if you want to drill new holes to match the new lights and, at the same time, use some of the existing holes.

Thane,

On the SC, the Bosch fog lights are held onto the valence by the single long bolt on the back of the foglight housing. It sounds like you're missing some parts. On the bare valence, you should find a large hole and two smaller holes, one at 12 o'clock and one at 6 o'clock relative to the large hole. There is a metal tab (a Porsche-specific part) that attaches to the front of the valence. The tab is oval, with a large hole in the center and two smaller holes at 6 and 12 o'clock. The tab mounts to the valence via the two small holes with the curved side of the tab facing forward. Now the foglight mounts to the valence, passing the long bolt from the foglight housing through the tab and through the valence. There is a large metal washer with a small hole that engages the foglight bolt behind the valence so you don't distort the valence when you tighten the foglight bolt and nut down. It might sound somewhat confusing, but if you can dig up a blow-up parts diagram, everything will be apparent.

These are the holes on my valance where my fog lights used to be.

IIRC the valange is sandwiched between the mounting plates.

Hope this helps.
