clutch pedal travel/click

For an 81 911SC - recently had clutch replaced (1500 miles). Clutch feels/engages great although very recently started experiencing the following...

At very top of pedal travel near fully released (just as you are about to take foot off), the pedal hits a slight detent and gives a light 'pop'/'snap' about 1-2 inches of travel from fully released (home position). Can sometimes hear a click under the car towards trunk.

any thoughts? I hear (via the pca tech site) that sometimes an adjust is sometimes needed once new clutches are worn in a little....

Silly question but is the clutch cable new? How about the clevis pin where the cable attaches at the pedal end? My age unknown cable was breaking at the angled metal tubing part that attaches to the transmission. Each time a cable snaps, it would be transmitted all the way back and be heard through the pedal board, almost like an acoustic guitar. But that snap was fairly loud, and the pedal changed position after each snap so it probably won't be your problem.

Maybe it's just the clutch pedal spring binding or making noise?

fairly new cable (late '04) - click is not loud - simply feels like a little pop/detent in the pedal close to the top - always the same pedal feel; clutch seems unaffected. Although same feel each time, audible click is not on every depress of pedal

thanks!

The clutch at the trans arm could be hanging up on a heat exchanger. My old one did. My old one also hung up on the throttle arm at the pedal box a bit. If it doesn't rev the engine just a bit, then the pedal box probably isn't an issue.
I could actually feel the throttle move a bit when I pushed in the clutch and had my foot on the gas pedal.
Maybe the clutch helper spring (at the 915 is hanging up a bit, too).

I have a brand new clutch in and it's making the same click. The pedal action is smooth as silk with no binding whatsoever. I thought at first the noise is the omega spring touching the left heat exchanger; however, the click appears to be coming from the pedal area. The cable action is adjusted right at spec, 25mm. The pedal bushings are somewhat new as is the roll pin.
