Best Car Amp

I would like some advice on the best 4 ch car amp for the money. I have 6 1/2 sonys in the door and 6x9s in the rear and I might had 4x4 in the rear seat armrest. I looking at something that as a clean sound. The amp would go under one of the front seats.

Eliminate anything painted red or with big bold graphics on it...

Most modern amps are pretty good in the car environment...Personally, I use JL and Crossfire amps.

if $$ is not issue, I had a mc intosh amp, long time ago. It's punch very strong even amp rating is very low compare to other manufacture. Very clear sound too.
I believe someone here has a mc intosh too. You might want to post a question for his opinion.

Randy, fi you're talking about Sony, a friend of mine told me avoid them. I heard Mc Intosh was great but I think that that is a little pricey for me. I want something that is clean sounding and pushing at a minimum of 60w rms.

the JL 300/4 and crossfire 404 are both excellent amplifiers, the JL is a bit stronger than the crossfier and is fully regulated.
i can't even remember how many of these i have installed at the shop as they are the cat's meow when it comes to 4 channels

I've heard many good things about the Audison range of Amps. SRx or LRx, come in 4 channel configurations. The LRx has a 2.250 amp, which delivers a very punchy 2 x 125W RMS per channel. That's the amp I'm considering.

JL Audio also has a good rep, as does Alpine.

Depends on how much you want to spend I guess

If $$ is also consider, not Mc Intosh then. Sony, Kenwood, etc are all similar to me. 60w rms is still less than 100W max output. Whatever you get, I would suggest the max output of the amp put out, should be more than the max of the speaker. You always can lower the output of the amp. This way, you can have clean sound. Max the output of the amp, will give you unclean sound. lower power from amp, will give you distorion, and/or loose sound.......

Agree! The Amp should be at least 15W RMS more than the nominal power rating of the speakers (e.g: If you get 60W RMS speakers, get at least a 75W+ RMS per channel amp).
