Ebay car - S or not an S?
I ran across this 1967 911 s on Ebay, but the vins are telling me that it is not an s ... Am I missing something on the vin plates? Seems misleading if it not an s.

Not an S based on the VIN and the engine is not an S crankcase either. 901/01 is an early 911 crankcase. An S would be 901/02. Misleading or uninformed. That looks more like a PA car than a California car to me. It needs a TON of work.

Man, what a pile. That thing is not even a good parts car, let alone good a restoration candidate. There are so many non-original parts on that car, I don't know where to start.
There are too many things that point to it not being an "S" so I am inclined to agree with you. The engine is not original to the car, nor an "S" motor, so that rules out any potential value anyway. It's a shame that some cars end up in that condition. JR |
