Odometer Gremlin..........
This is REALLY weird! I noticed today that the odometer in my SC had jumped from 119,750 (yesterday) to 219,770 today! The additional 20 miles is about correct for the driving done in the last 24 hours, but the +100K is totally spooky! Every odometer that I have ever worked on (for repair purposes only!) is geared so that the digit to the right had to make a complete revolution before the next digit will increase by "1". Is there something special about SC odometers that would make it possible for the far left digit to increase without the next to the left digit making a complete revolution? Somebody help me before I go out and put a wooden stake thru its heart.

Gremlin Hits the Road......
Well, so much for the wierd acting odometer! I just replaced the 85 mph unit with a more functional rebuilt 170 mph speedometer. The question now is, how to document the original mileage as (should have been) indicated on the original instrument? Remember, the 100,000 mile unit had jumped from 119,750 to 219,770 overnight! I want to maintain the correct provenance of the car for any future owner. Any ideas? Should I just make a note in the owners manual and maybe include a copy of the reciept for the new speedo? Whada U think?
