Rear Window Bezel Trim

Can someone confirm this please. I've read in some previous posts that prior to installing the rear window (coupe), lay the bezels on the glass and ensure that they are flat. Does this mean that the bezel must exactly follow the profile and curvature of the glass, or should they be flattened such that they would lay nicely on a flat surface.

Maybe a dumb question, but I'm going to put in my rear window which someone elso took out (and subsequently couldn't get back in because the trims kept popping out....surprise, surprise). I'm looking at the bezels and they are almost flat when laid on a table. There are no kinks or anything like that, but to my thinking, the bezel should follow the glass profile.

Also, what is the thoughts on sealer. It's a new porsche seal I'm using (not OEM or repro) and whilst I don't want any leaks I don't want to use sealant if it's not necessary

Thanks

David
