Cleaning hubs and assorted wheel and suspension parts...
I know there has been bad exprience with cleaning alum and mag cases with simple green, but what about soaking hubs and similar stuff in it? I need to remove some serious grime before bead blasting (if it is necessary following grime removal). Any other solvent suggestions for this? I have access to buckets of good stuff at work...
Thanks!

for grime ( = greasey, non-polar crud) use a solvent tank
for polar type stuff ('dirt') use a strong detergent I wouldn't soak anything in S Green or Castrol Purple (which removes paint BTW) spray it on scrub and rinse off w/o waiting very long. See how things look. Think about soda blasting or plastic beads for a real new look. Hot water and elbow grease are like magic.
