Recommendations on a Good Reputable 915 Transmission Rebuild Shop in Northern Calif.?

Can anyone recommend a good reputable Porsche 911 transmission rebuild shop that may also be able to make some minor performance improvements as well. I have a 3.2L Carrera with a stock 915.

Also, any estimates on costs for complete rebuild with no modifications and can anyone recommend some performance recommendations for street use and occasional track runs...costs estimates as well.

Thanks everone!

Alex

Cost is very dependent on what needs work it seems.

From my "research" being in a similar situation, I would consider an "average" rebuild ~$1K - with many going higher.

Prices can go up...and up from there depending on the condition of your present 915.

This is one of the reasons for attempting the work myself...

Now - improvements? Consider the Wevo stuff as a good starting point for increased reliability.

What other improvements are you looking for?

As long as the case is open, you might consider adding a limited slip if you don't have one. $$$ though.

I would give Hayden at WEVO a ring. He is in the bay area and can give you some great advice/guidance. Not sure if he rebuilds tranny's, but you could ask.

Hayden probably still does some of this... likely performance oriented. Not sure if he is doing this type of work as he is likely very busy with Brumos.

There are a lot of great SF Bay area shops... JWE and Sportech are two in the South Bay. There are others.
