Material or Labor?

Material $125.00

Labor $500.00

This was done about 9 years agon on my 74 Coupe. Adjust for escalation in the cost of material and labor to get a cost for today.

I remember a shop replaced the whole pan for a 67 911S in San Clemente, Ca. and he charged the guy $500 labor. This was in about 1998 or 1999. Goodluck.

I have done way too many of these and it is difficult to say - it depends on how much reconstruction ( fabrication) of associated metal is needed, , if someone has already been there bugaring things up or poorly repaired previous damage, if there is an AC inclosure, if you want to reinforce the suspension mountings and the level of finish that is required . If you want it to be dificult to spot, you will need to finish with factory undercoating and some paint. I think a good range of hours required is a minimum of 20 hours to as many as 50. Body shop rates start around $45/hr and up - see the restoration design web site for the cost of the sheet metal . dont forget to add the cost of undercoating paint and supplies used. Finally, when it comes to body work and paint choose the shop carefully, I have found you get what you pay for. YMMV good luck

attached are a couple of pictures of a factory slopenose that battery acid totaly disintigrated the metal but the undercoating was so thick no one knew there was a problem until a tow truck yanked the front suspension apart - the flip up headlight assembly created a further complication and needed to be removed to complete the repair.
