porsche 911 question

hi.. i have a question why do some 1978 - 1981 porsche 911 come with black door window trim and some come chrome, anybody no this one thanks.

Chrome was a no cost option for the sc through 1979.

If I remember correctly (someone will correct me if I am not) "chrome" - its actually polished aluminum, not chrome - was standard through '76 and optionally black. In '77 standard became black (I think) and polished was optional. On SC's black remained the standard and polished was optional on SC's through '79 as tonypeoni says. Not sure if you could get polished at all after '79?
