Don't lease it unless you want to drive it and return it unscathed.

Don't lease it if you want to buy it eventually. You just pay more in the long run. Ask me how I know.

Don't lease it if you want to mod it, or if you plan on putting some miles on it.

I wouldn't lease another car unless I had no other choice. I've had 2, the 1st I walked away from. The 2nd is the Boxster and I'm buying it tomorrow for $22K. I can get a lot of Boxsters for 22, so I'm just getting mine for what it would cost to buy another, No advantage except I know the car.

Actually, I want another 911, the wife wants her toy. I had mine.....I lose.

Oh, and look at that post, 9996. Is that telling me something?

Overall i am wondering about a few things:

1. The turbo emblem is off center, they claim it was stolen and the past owner replaced it incorrectly.
2. The rear splash/road gaurds found on the front of the turbo flares, appear to be there UNDER the 965 turbo rockers, has anyone ever seen this before?
3. The interior is a littl odd, the center console in particular looks DIFFERENT then any othe 965 i have looked at.

If anyone can give any feedback on these items i would apprecite it.

Its an aftermarket consol, the seats and been recovered and the deck lid is a mess with that 3.6 glued on wrong. How hard could it have been for a decent body shop to put that turbo 3.6 badge on correctly after they did the body work on the rear?

By the way this car has been discussed on the rennlist 964 turbo board.

Personally I love the 3.6 turbo MY 1994 but i would keep looking.

So let me be sure i understand this:

The console is aftermarket, does this change anything?
The seats are recovered, or aftermarket?
What body work do you see?

its an asumption that the rear deck had to be redone and they were too lazy to put the badge on correctly, the console is take it or leave it and the seats recover could be a good thing I just wonder why it had to be done so soon. I am just saying tread carefully. There are several really sweet 3.6 t's on the market right now.

ohhh ok yeah gotcha, dunno it was orginally from CHerryHill NJ and was recently relocatred to FL as of 2003, carfax and title check both show clean titles.

Why would they need to have added an aftermarket console?

Probably the reason the turbo script was replaced is because this year of a 930 was done in plastic and is way cheap (breaks easy). There are so many was to break these waxing, buffing or just using a shamme carelessly.

This is a 965 atleast the vin says it is. This couldnt be a total fake out could it? I mean they claim the emblem was stolen and replaced, thst why it is off center.

whats the vin ? Im sorry the reason i said 930 is because a 91 turbo which i though this was is a 3.3. Almost the same as a 930 but has a larger intercooler, turbo and exhaust ect.

Interestingly, the "turbo" emblem looks centered, as if someone just added the "3.6" to a normal turbo decklid. I wonder if it could simply be an earlier 3.3L 965, or maybe a transplant to/from one?

either way, I'd still run away fast.

* Funky aftermarket console.
* Rock shields under the rocker covers??
* decklid emblem issue.
* Fugly wheels (where are the original 3.6 18" Speedlines?).

It was also recently on ebay. Seller doesn't have the greatest feedback rating either:

As much as I love the original 930 the whole chasis on the 965 is different, which makes it a whole different care not just intercooler et al.

Why would they post a 965 VIN#?

Is it possible that they are faking the actual 965 and this could be a 930?

I doubt that it's a 930 (to me, a 930 refers to all torsion bar 911 turbos, 1975-1989). It is much more likely that it is just a "standard" 965 (3.3L, 1991-1993), instead of the much more desirable 965 3.6 (1994 only). Maybe it is a genuine (but butchered) turbo 3.6. Hard to say without seeing it in person and verifying all of the VIN plates/stamps.

In europe the 3.6 turbo came out in model year 93, they get a lot of cars a model year earlier than North America. Could this be confusing you??

In NA, the 3.6 turbo was a 94 model car, the 3.3 was available 91 92 93.

Cheers
