Just repainted my Fuchs from black to silver. Put primer then silver then clear gloss (about three coats each).
The gloss is shiny but a bit sandy to touch. What do I use to smooth it out without removing too much of it? Thanks for any help!

why is it "sandy" to touch? If it's just orange peel some fine sand paper. If it's small cracks from non compatable paint, not much you can do. I painted fuchs once and the top coat crackled over the bottom coat. There were fine cracks in the paint that felt like a textured surface to the touch.

if it is dry spray you can take some 1200 grit and water sand it....if they were mine I would let them dry overnight...take a grey scotchbrite....get them nice and smooth and shoot another coat of clear over it.....just a little closer this time....if it hazed and cracked....your color coat and clear coat are not compatable and you will have to sand it off and start over using compatable materials

Touching it again after it has dried for another six hours, it feels a bit better.
I used Wurth self-etching primer then Einszett silver then Wurth clear (Pelican was out of Wurth silver at the time and was told they are compatible). I will check them out tomorrow; perhaps I am too anxious not waiting for them to dry overnight. I will try the grey scotchbrite or 1200 grit. Thanks for the help.
