sump plate kit won't fit??

Bought the sump plate kit from Pelican for my '77 911s. Thought it would be great to change oil without having to remove the whole plate every time. Anyway, removed the old plate and found it has a screen that is rounded. New plate from Wayne is flat and won't fit. Do I need to remove the screen to make this work or did I waste $80.00?

Thanks

I bought the MCD-993-107-001-00 for my 78sc rebuild with carrera oil pump. It works greatand fits well. Which one did you order. Mine has a deep well that allows for clearance.

I got the exact same one, however, this won't fit on mine due to the screen at the bottom of the engine. Obviously, you didn't have to remove the screen. I don't get it. In the description on Pelican it say's will fit mine but it's not close.

sean..I recall the inside of mine being dished out. the center section is about an inch deeper then the flange. I might have purchase the plate directly from Mainely:

Looking thru their website its clear that I ordered: 993-107-001-00
ck out their picture:

Hi Sean, Yes, you will need our 993-107-001-00. It's designed to replace the rounded cover, that does not have the drain plug and is used with the upgraded turbo oil pump. The 993-107-001-00 has the round inside and uses the 911 drain plug.

It might be easyer if you email me your shipping address and I'll exchange yours for the correct one that you will need.

Thanks again Bob.......I'm still a "newbie" and learning every day. I have allot more to do to my car over the next few months.

I appreciate your follow up. I'll certainly use and recommend Mainely Custom in the future.

Sean
