1966 911 needs paint color suggestion

I have a 1966 911 that is in pretty good condition. It was originally Bahama Yellow, but a previous owner painted it what looks like Guards Red. I am readying it for it's 40th birthday and planning on painting it. Since I really dislike the original color, I am thinking of a few choices.
1. Polo Red
2. Light Ivory
3. Black

Since I haven't seen a lot of 66's, I am looking for opinions from other owners as to which color looks the best. If you have pictures of similar SWB cars with great paint, please post them. It goes to paint in 2 weeks.
Thanks in advance
John

Aga Blue. Soteric has a '67 S targa in that color (I'm 99% sure about the color). It's beautiful.

Well, Stinky is Light Ivory.. in a manner of speaking... When I have her painted again, I really think I'm going to stay with that color. It should look really good.

John, go to this website and check out the various colors on these older Porsches. www.early911s.com Click on gallery and you will see a multitude of colors. Put your cursor on the car picture, and it will tell you the color of the car. Freddie

Aga Blue
Slate Grey
Gulf Blue
Irish Green
Polo Red
Signal Yellow
Stone Grey
Silver
Signal Orange (not an official '66 color but a great early 911 color)

(But paint it ANY color but black. Sorry.)

Any of your choices would be great, but I would go back to original - Bahama yellow on an old girl is fabulous !

Heck I would paint my '85 Carrera in that color but I am afraid it would look kind of out of place (time).

a guy at the ventura show had a leaf green early car. that color on that car was perfect. out of all the cars there, that (by far) was the best. well, in my opinion.

You don't have it listed, but Rick and Markus are RIGHT!
Bahama Yellow!!! You will not find a sweeter period correct color for an earlier model than that! My Dad's first 911 was a '67S in Bahama Yellow... I get chills every time I see one now... You would really need to see one in person to appreciate that color!

Second choice would be Light Ivory.

Good luck!!

Well, you really should stick with the original color-- people who buy '66's don't do it because of the wide tires and huge horsepower, they do it because the car is a throwback to the dawn of the 911, and Bahama Yellow is an AWESOME period color!

Now, my race car is Light Ivory, but almost too close to Grand Prix white. How about "Ivory" which is darker than "Hell Elefenbein?"
