Brake Upgrade Done, Good News... Bad News...

The Good News:
I finally completed the brake upgrade I've been working on, like most projects it kinda snowballed and I ended up completely rebuilding the front suspension with all the usual Elephant Racing stuff and Sanders 23mm TB's.

Hey Bill V, quick question...
Brake upgrade questions

The Bad News:
My front 16" wheels won't fit back on without hitting the caliper, I tried up to a 1.5" spacer and they still rub, the wheels fit the car best with a .75" spacer and anything more than 1" and the tires will hit the fenders.

The Kinda Good News:
I guess this gives me an excuse to buy some new wheels,
I'm thinking 17"X9"/ 235X40 front and 17"X11"/ 275X40 rear.

Here's a list of the vendors I used:

TRE Motorsports - Caliper adapters and mounting bolts
Dave Bouzaglou was a really helpful guy and went way out of his way to help me out.

Vehicle Craft - 23mm non assisted master cylinder kit, Doug Arnao answered all my questions (even the stupid ones) and shipped quickly.

Elephant Racing - Chuck Moreland was great, answered all my questions (including some REALLY stupid ones) and gave me great advice on the install of the poly bronze bushings and through the body sway bar, everything went very smoothly.

Pelican Parts - everything else.

Gary,

Very nice, looks like you used the modified hub method at the front.

This thread had all the info about 16" fuchs and 993 calipers

993 calipers with 911 16 fuchs?

Hi hmd,
Yes I used the modified hub setup, unfortunately I'm not using fuchs, I have some BBS style wheels and there's no way to make them work.

It looks like it will have to be another 4+ weeks on jack stands and some new wheels, I'll post pictures once it's finally complete.

I second the replica 17" fuchs.
