fan shroud strap
Is there a way to remove this ? Looks like it locks in. I have the shroud and fan out being powder coated and was looking to do the same for the strap?

I think you have to remove the distributor to get it out....I just polished mine...only took about 30 minutes, started with 400 grit paper, then 1200, then grey scotchbrite...then finished with mothers aluminum polish...looks a lot like polished stainless....

I had mine cad plated. I would not recommend painting it. To get it around the fan housing, you will surely scratch it up significantly.
