Fender Cooler Wiring

Hello Gentlemen,

I am installing a fender cooler with fan on my '83 SC. Because the cooler does not have a thermoswitch, it will be manually operated only; with a switch on the dash somewhere. Can anyone lead me through the wiring for this step-by-step or point me to the correct post? I have the relay and relay socket sold by our host for this project per the 101 Book. The 101 book describes wiring for manual and thermoswitching. I want manual only.

Thank you.

I just wired up a Carerra cooler with the thermo switch this weekend using the info from this post by flintstone:

oil cooler fan thermoswitch

Compare that diagram with this one that I modified. By wiring the fan ground to 85 and then installing a switch which completes or breaks the ground (circuit) this should work.

Perhaps someone else will jump in and confirm.
