Mystery Wires, to me anyway
I am the puffy chested owner of my first 911, 1984 Carrera. It has been one week now and am just able to sleep almost through the night.
When fondeling (wiping down ,inspecting) over all the nooks and crannies I came across an electrical connector pennetrating the inner fender area behind the battery, overheated and obviously no longer connected due to the melt down. I don't have the manual's yet and would like to know what system or gismo used to recieve power through this connection. Please see the attached pic. Thanks!! ![]() |

That area you are pointing to doesn't appear to be overheated at all ... it is the typical darkening of paint when exposed to boiling sulphuric acid fumes for an extended period because the battery is being overcharged by a bad Voltage regulator!

I would be just as concerned with that rust if I was you...
