I drive a 1984 Carrera sold new in NZ with 141,000 Kms on the clock. Its White with White Factory 16 inch wheels, Euro spec with Koni adjustable shocks and an English stainless steel exhaust being the only departures from stock. I have recently completed a rebuild of pedals and shifter bushes etc etc mostly with parts from Pelican apart from the Clutch Pedal Helper spring as right hand drive version was not available (cost $113 NZ dollars from local Porsche Dealer left hand drive spring from Pelican was equal to $12 NZ). I adjusted clutch cable at both ends & shifter as per manual but cannot get 25 mm travel at cable end at the gearbox. I get down to 25.7mm and run out of adjustment in the slots on the stop on the pedal. I don't think .2 mm over the plus minus .5mm tolerance is a big deal as the car drives fine pedal take up is in the right place and the shifts thru all gears are good. I am just left wondering what have I missed that does not let me get to 25mm. Does any one have any suggestions?

Make sure the rubber part of the stop is present and in good condition. Or, elongate the slots a little bit, so you can move the stop a little more.
