Trouble getting the Brake Caliper back on.
 

Had trouble getting getting the Right Front rotor off. If felt like it was hanging up on something but I couldn't see anything. Finally just gave it a strong yank and it came off. Had the rotor turned and went to put it back on. Everything looks good. Problem: I can't get the caliper to line up properly to get the bolts in. :confused: Its as if someone moved the holes. The Caliper seems to be bumping up against the backing plate. I thought it might be one of the wheel bearings but the rotor turns very smoothly without any wobble. All I can think of is to take the whole thing apart and start over. :mad:
Any suggestions?

did you remount the rotor the wrong way on the hub? is that even possible???

Try stuffing the piston back in the caliper with a "C" clamp a little to give you more wiggle room.

John: I don't think I would have gotten that far if that was the case but I'll check it tomarrow.
Hugh: The caliper slides easily onto the rotor. It just won't line up with the holes.

Bump from yesterday. Anyone?

are you sure that you have the caliper from the proper side of the car and its not upside down? The Bleed nipple points up

is the bolt hitting the stong guards? maybe the guards moved during the process. (good time to take them off anyway)
if its only a 64th or 32nd, probably okay re-dress the holes. measure hub ear spacing and caliper holes to see which needs dressing.

Time to admit stupidity. After a good nights sleep and a fresh look, it turned out to be the hard line was not allowing the caliper to line up. I was being too gentle with it. All is well. Thanks for the replies.
