Boxster Brake Confusion: Rotor ?s

I really have read a ton of threads and am now more confused. I went ahead and added Boxster rear calipers to the Boxster fronts that I bought with my 73 I had it on the track at Infineon yesterday and it was great.

However, unrelated to the changes my front rotors need replacing. Everything works great but a small portion of the pads overlap front and rear. Is there a slightly larger rotor that is closer to the 298 mm size of the Boxster?

a) will 944 T rotor fit? 298x 28 (17mm hub mount height???)

b) 964 rotors (have read this works but didn't find sizes / spacer ?)

c) Carrera / SC rotors - same size (different diameter??)

Any help would be appreciated.

Matt S.

ps: I considered the Carrera rears but went with the boxsters for two reasons 1) ended up with a stack of pagid blacks and oranges Free - may be a short sighted reason but... $8-900 free 2) A lot of the fast toyo spec 911 cars run them and like them.

Carrera rotors will work front and rear. On the back you will have to machine/ file/grind --pick one-- the support pins (shiny plated ones in the inside of the rear calipers) so the thicker carrera rotors have adequate clearance- then they bolt right on.
Check the centering of the boxster caliper over the rotor after install- you may have to shim the mounting adaptors slightly either direction to get the rotor centered in the caliper "throat"

Front is total bolt on with no mods. Check your front adaptors to see if they can be flipped so the front pads do not overlap the rotor's edge

One more note: some struts have the caliper mounting ears that are slightly larger than others. What this means to you is that the inner pads may not seat completely down in the caliper. We had to file the edge of the ears and the bottom corners of the pads so there was no interference
