Leaking Cabriolet - Any Solutions?

Ok guys - I have an '83 Cab that is primarily a nice weather car, so I've never really worried about this, but my roof leaks right where the window, roof and windshield meet? I am looking for a temporary fix for this coming weekend given it is supposed to be ugly here in Ohio and I have a road trip planned where I will be taking the 911! Looking at the seal where the roof seals with the windshield there is a slight gap that I think could be sealed by placing a piece of rubber in there as I shut the top? Anybody ever done tried this? Any ideas? Need something about the size of a half dollar as a temporary fix - how about some of that spray foam insulation??

buy a coupe.
I can't believe you have an actual gap...try using something to swell the seal.
I'm going thru the ungodly expense of sealing up my cab in preparation for a road trip in August. I just got the new top ($1700 installed) and am installing the new door seals ($600). Now I'm sourcing a new windshield (???). Hopefully, it will be water-tight after I'm done, but I have my doubts.
Good luck.

i did all that crap to mine. .... after all the time/work/effort/money, it still leaks. so i said "fuk" it...

i just drilled a few a holes in the floor boards in the back under the seats so the water can escape. I also carry a few towels with me when it rains.

If you mean the leak is here at the corner (pic)

Then I was suffered of this problem as well. There is also a slight gap between the top weather strip and the front metal frame. Water follow the path to both corner and leak into the interior right at the join between the front and side rubber seal.
I was thnking if I cover the gap (between the top font and the front metal frame) then the problem fixed. The problem is that I couldn't find any weather strip that tiny.
Finally, a friend of mine gave me a piece D shape weather strip and very small, size of 1/2 of my little finger size. Which I can stick it to the front metal frame. The bulge side of the D shape is facing the front weather strip of the convertible. So at the end, I have 2 D shape weather strip pressing on each other.
For me, it's not easy to find this side/shape of weather strip. If this is your problem and you can't find it there. Let me know. I'll send you a piece. I have some extra.

rnln: Thanks for the offer - I will drop you a PM with the address, except that will not help me for this weekend? Your pic never cam through, but it sounds exactly the same. I was thinking of putting a drop of hot glue then shut the top so I get a rubber-like seal that I can just peel off at some point?

on-ramp: That is a lot of $$ to prevent leaks? How about a couple towels, which is what I am considering? My top is down 90% of the time I am driving.

Your doubts are well founded, Bill.
I installed a new 993 top over the winter, replaced the door seals, windshield frame seal and b pillar vertical seals. The only ones I kept were the horizontal seals becasue they are still in pretty good shape. Mine still leaks at that corner when the car is sitting. If I'm moving, then it stops. I just drive my winter car on rainy days and keep a couple towels in the car just in case.

My car had some black foam strips at the top of the front side windows. It did the job at keeping big rain out but it still allowed drips to come in. It looked like the foam strips were hot glued in place.

Take a look at this manual. The Targa side window adjustment is pretty much the same as the cab. I just replaced my top and window seals and no leaks or any appreciable wind noise.
