WoW, Wevo shifter this just cant be
 

Just finished putting a wevo shifter in my 82, wow, this is a serious shifter, after using the the old slop shifter and going to this it just cant be that good but it is. i still have the junk motor mounts in and im not sure if the shifter is quit adjusted right yet. I would say its at least 80-90 percent better. you could not have convinced me before i put it in. the throw is real short not a lot of side to side movement just feels real precise.

question does the reverse pin suppsed to click every time going from 4th to 5. The instructions say that it is supposed to lightly touch.

anyway ill get pictures later. i cant make up my mind to use the consel with no boots or use the boots and hide everything.

before i forget, the handle felt kinda low to the ground feels like it could be taller, (maybe this is bacause i have been driving my dually 5 speed lately.

Great product, this was low on my list before but i think it should be one of the first updates now, not worrying so much about what gear your in is worth the cash, Kevin

After years of shifting various 'sloppy' 911s, even with short shifts, i couldnt believe the difference the WEVO made either!

Was it difficult to install?

Wevo makes TONS of 915 stuff..which mod did you do, exactly? Anything on the couplers or in the trans itself?

Mine clicks going into reverse.

Mine makes a light click going into fifth. It's a great feedback mechanism to let you know that you've upshifted correctly, and aren't about to blow your motor with an inadvertant 4th-to-3rd mis-shift.

BTDT on my old 3.6 SC

I just did the shifter, pretty easy to install, had to play with a bit so it will go in reverse right, the instructions say that it has to barely touck the the push in lock which is what make the shifter click,

this was the only upgrade I have done so far. I have two wevo motor mounts I think ill install at the tranny. (my motor and tranny mounts are lets just say junk) I do have a 3.6 so I was worried about the dreaded shift miss. Wevo made me a believer in their products.

The shifting is so good that when i first drove the car i was still concentrating on shifting. Two hours later and 30-40 miles and i have relaxed with it and it just gets smoother. What the heck was Porsche thinking when they put that VW shifter in our cars.

The 3.6 made run and feel like a modern Porsche, the wevo shifter has made it shift like one. Some of you may not know that i have pretty much just stuffed the car in the corner for like 4 years. even after the 3.6 i was just not interested. this spring it was my goal to sell it or drive it. I beleive the shifter has made that much of an improvemnet that i like driving it again. I have the car for 6 years the first two were great then it was just no more love. I gotta think I could feel the "love" for driving that...even with a loose shifter, LOL...
