Sizing of Fuchs
I have never seen the combination of 8" wide or 9" in the rear and 6" wide up front. I don't want 7s in front because I do not want to roll the fender lip. Are there any issues with a 6" and 8" or 6" and 9" set up?

6 and 8 was the setup on later Carreras. It may have been an option, but they came from the factory that way.

Why not just run sevens with a 205 tire?
|
6's and 8's came stock on the 88 Carrera. I like Jacks idea of a 205 on a 7 up front. This is what I run and even though my fenders are rolled there is still a lot of room.

I have an 89 Carrera 3.2 and the factory set up is 6's and 8's. Standard tyre widths were 205 front and 225 rear. I definitely prefer the look of 7's in the front. For the track I run 7 and 8 BBS with 205s in the front. No need to roll the fenders.

I run 7's and 9's and I didn't need to roll the front lips until I dropped the car quite a bit. Even then they aren't rolled very much at all. They would slightly slice the edge of the tire when turning in to a driveway.

I run 225/45s on my SC front with 7s.....no problem.

No rubbing at all in the rear. I slightly tapped the lips in front with a rubber deadblow mallet to keep it off the front tires. |
Zoanas,
Your headlight are so... big  |
I'm running 7/8s with 225/50 and 245/45 at stock height with no problem at all.

7s & 8s.........
My '80 SC is lowered to the "Euro" height and is running 7 x16 and 8 x16 Fuchs without any rubbing problems. The front lips are not rolled. When I first got the car the left front tire would occasionally catch the fender lip but a new set of Bilsteins and an alignment stopped that problem. By the way, I am running Falken 205-55-16 fronts and 225-50-16 rears.
