Guards Red Water Spots???

I have a 1986 930 with guards red original paint in what I consider excellent condition. I have a problem with the paint I hope someone could answer for me.

If the car is left out in the rain and then the water sun dries on the car it seems to leave a cloudy water spot. It seems to be quite deep into the paint. I keep in waxed with Zymol and normally the car is not in the weather but occasionally it happens.

Can anyone tell me if this is a problem because of the color or is it related to the Zymol for some reason? The paint is brilliant and is really impressive but this is the second time this has happened.

Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks

I've had similar issues in the past when I first got the wifes '96 993 in Guards Red especially on the parts that were plastic like the light bar. I did some investigation at the time and it's probably a combination of some oxidized paint along with paint that needs more oils. I'm not an expert on the subject but the advice I got at the time had me trying a few different steps and products. It's no longer a simple wold of just buying wax from Wal-Mart. The technology has advanced way beyond that. I'd go to Autopia.org and spend some time there and ask your question to those guys.

They are to paint finishes what Pelican is to Porsches.

Basically, I think if you took a panel and used a clay bar, then a glaze like Clearkotes Vanilla Moose Glaze or Red machine Glaze and followed it with a good long lasting Carnuba that has some defect hiding ability like Collinite 476 and put on several coats over a period of a few weeks your problem will be solved.

This was a path recommended to me specifically for my Guards Red car and it's worked wonders.
