Einmalig repro door pockets for '69-'73 models

Anyone have any comments on the repro door pockets (rear ones) available from Einmalig for the early '69-'73 models ?

What is the quality like ?

How authentic-looking are they ?

Is Einmalig a reliable set-up to deal with ?

Any comments welcomed.

Based on my past experience with einmalig, their repro stuff will probably be more expensive than OEM.
Every time I have looked into buying something from them they acted as if the part was made of solid gold.

"REAR" door pockets?

Not sure what's more frightening in that...rear pockets or rear DOORS?!

I bought some fiberglass replacement door pockets for my 75 and re-used the lids. The only problem I ran into was the lids don't completely close - the lip that normally sets down into the pocket doesn't quite clear the top edge of the door pocket. Not sure what I am going to do about it yet.....other than that they look great!

Sorry Andy, my fault. I brought up the later door pocket issue.

Jesse, I think if you shim the backside of the door pocket where it mates to the door panel it will give you more clearence so the lid will close properly.

Charles - Carbon Fiber door pokets? Uh, okay. To each his own I suppose. But $500?...for door pockets?

I paid $105 delivered for my new fiberglass ones. Okay, they're not going to win any Concours points, but they'll be covered in carpet on the front with a new carpet kit from our host and the insides? I'll probably cover them with a black felt or something to approximate the factory "fur" stuff.

dan.......everybody SCREAMS about weight issues on here! its like im surrounded by mtn bikers counting grams..............or a jenny craig convention counting pounds! what can i say. these were offered by the other guys(not mentioned) and the warped way i looked at it was this..........they get abused by everyone getting in and out, weight issue(?),new from other guys was for fiberglass w/carpet $199 + shipping, and they would not do the same as OEM,nor fiberglass due to material being fairly bulletproof. mine are in crap shape, but i stash alot of needed items when not racing that i gotta have on highway and then you have weight issue of items in there playing havoc. wish pelican had these. cant stand the "other guys"! plus if you live in rural zip code like me...........youd be the only one to have them! now thats bragging rights LOL!

My door pockets on my 73 look like crap..the one thats still intact, that is, LOL

I saw a NOS one go on ebay yesterday for $500....ugg. I am NOT going to pay over a THOUSAND dollars for two peice o' crap cadboard embarassments!

What are my options?? Sounds like $100 for carbon fibre? No thanks....

Sources? reviews? Go into business myself?? I really have to do something, LOL.

late apex.........carbon fiber from automotion was $599 for (2). i compared their f/glass at $244.95 each. so do the math.......roughly a 100 dollar bill diff. buy the cheaper ones you are back to square one ie. same material, buy the f/glass a little bit stouter. buy the c/fiber.............never mess with it again and you will be cool, save weight, drop a wad of cash and move on to next screwed up thing on your car like me. the whole damn car is disposible income...........hell do you think at my advanced age i want to redo things over and over just to save a buck??? im lazy and the only thing i can get my g/friend to do is wash and wax the damn thing........! she refuses to work on it and refuses to push it! im just trying to fix it right the first time and NEVER look back. yeah 600 bucks is alot for stupid ass door pockets........throw in $125 for a lid x 2 ! and the next thing you know its starting to piss ya off!

Can we get this back on track please guys - I am only interested in feedback on the repro door pockets offered by Einmalig as outlined in my first post.

Please do not post your comments on later ('74-on) door pockets, carbon fibre replacements or any other unrelated topic...

Jeeze, the thread is on early door pockets, not late ones. Late door pockets are easy to repro.

I have seen Einmalig's door pockests. They look exceptionally close to stock cardboard. I think the qaulity and apperance is great. I can't say a word on fitment.

Eimalig has been in business for a long time, I see them at all the southern california shows. I've never heard anything bad, I have bought a few small misc parts from them with cash at Porsche shows. I have no complaints.

I saw these pockets at the All-Euro show in Long Beach. They looked nice and were priced reasonably. For a ground up-restoration project, however, I felt they fell short of the mark. Still a nice alternative.

Well, excuuuuuuse us! LOL.

On the other hand, you might not get any response, in which case it drops off the page like a rock, so something is better than nothing at times.

But thats just my opinion. I'll be sure to stay out from here on in.

One option is to go pocketless. That is, delete the $2000 door pockets (price I've also seen for NOS).

You can install just the armrests against full replacement door panels from Original Fit, Appziz or DIY, or the minimal RS look. If you want to look factory, you'll have to bite some type of bullet.
