I guess there's only one in a lifetime.....
1984 911 Parts/Project $5,800 Denver
I got my S this way right here in 2004. No luck today. Sold in literally minutes. Now, I would have driven that car after whatever work it needed was done (including a probable backdate). What do you want to bet the motor and trans is on eBay within a week? I hate the way things work sometimes, but as I said, I did get my "once in a lifetime deal" already. You don't go around twice, eh? |

Milt, What did we miss? Why didn't you just repair it and keep driving it? Barring that, why sell it so dmaned cheap when it was a low mileage and otherwise clean complete and non-rusted car? Something ain't right with this deal. I'd have bought it in a nanosecond if I'd known about it.

He's saying he missed this one as well. He bought his S in similar shape and resold it. He's saying he would have repaired this one and kept it.
I have to agree. I'd have bought the Carrera in a second for that price! Mike

Okay, got it. I understand (sorta) not fixing your car when it gets hit. You aren't "in love" with your car in the first place, its "just a car" to some people, etc. What I DON'T UNDERSTAND is, if you're going to sell it, why not get the going price for it? Apparently its because you already have all the money you need and just want the damned thing out of your life!
This car sold too cheap. It could be a very nice car for a lot of the guys here. Too bad. I hope it doesn't end up parted....but it might.

Dan, Milt points us to a thread indicating a deal that he missed.

All I can add is that the car obviously was the last car in a rear ender. Maybe the guy is just so disappointed in life right now that he just wanted the f out.
I did email him (a 2nd time) and thank him for posting that it WAS sold. So many don't do that and just leave the thing hanging on everyone's mind. I also realize that I should have put this in the "Porsche Marketplace Forum." So, moderators, if you see fit, please move it there to keep precedent correct. My Bad. |

I'm in Denver and I called him fifteen minutes after the ad popped up on Craig's list (it was there first.)
I don't know who got it but I'm sure it's one of two guys. We'll see. Finding deals like this make this hobby fun and sometimes profitable. This car went very, very fast. Jess |

I looked at this car a while ago back when I was searching, but ended up passing. I directed the seller (nice guy) to advertise it on this board, figuring it would sell quickly. Guess I was right about that.
The front end damage is new (didn't exist when I was looking), but I agree this would be a great track candidate. Someone got a good deal!
