Source for 72 911 appraisal for insurance value
My insurance agent says I cannot use a self stated value on my 72 911T. As such, I need a source for an official valuation. I have made several restoration improvements and feel the car may be worth more than the average 1972. Have any of your pelicans run into this situation before... and if so how were you able to solve it without switching to an insurance company that accepts a stated value? Does the PCA offer appraisals? Any clever ideas on how I might resolve this?

Bruce Anderson does appraisals for a fee. See http://www.911handbook.com/

You need an "Agreed Value" policy. If it is a "Stated Value" policy, it is still subject to depreciation, etc. and generally will not wind up settling for the 'stated value'. Agreed Value is a guarantee you will receive the full policy amount.

PCA has a "no charge" valuation service if you belong. They do a fairly extensive research to obtain a value for your car.

Thanks for the info Pelicans. I am a member of the PCA (Lone Star Region) so I will investegate that option first since it is no charge. Thanks again.
