What function has this hose?
While working on the alternator, fan and housing I checked that all the different hoses and wires was properly connected. Some where a bit loose (I think they where vacuum hoses) and one other hose was not attached at all. The only place the hose could reach was a point under the air box, and I am quite sure that is where it is supposed to be connected, can anyone confirm this and tell me what this hose is for? The hose and connection point is shown in the photo(after it has been reconnected)

The hose at issue likely connects the drain from the air cleaner housing to a small plastic container with a rubber bottom valve mounted on the forward passenger side engine sheet metal (above and to the rear of the starter area). Any overfill of oil that comes into the housing through the breather hoses from the oil tank will typically drain out through this hose, container and valve and out onto the ground. One difference is that the factory part manuals do not show a hose clamp being used on the hose as there is essentially no pressure. There is also a small clamped hose that returns oil from the MFI fuel injector pump to a nozzle on the breather housing.

Thanks Jim Sims !!!
I guess the clamp is there because of the hose being a bit slack then. I did not know that the oil could spill up from the oil tank thru the breather hose up into the air box...
