Nurburgring results, note Japanese cars
I remember when some people on this board said how great these Subaru and Mitsubishi products are. Well, check out the results at the 24 hours of Nurburgring. These are production based racers. I guess Porsche still is the best.

What's amazing is the 5th position of the BMW 120d... that's a 163 hp 2 liter DIESEL engine in a 25.000 Euro car and it beats a bunch of Porsches BMW M3s etc.
Gotta get one of those for daily driving...

Not as many pit stops. 4 hour stints per driver. But the diesel in the BMW is not stock. Generates about 350 ft lbs of torque.

Yeah, but the R10 (diesel) won at Le Mans, right? I'm telling you, those high performance diesels will be the future, particularly as gas prices go through the roof.
I didn't look through all the standings of this event, but I saw no Mazdas. Did any run? I'd think they'd come in at least before Honda and Hyundai. Oh, and Subie and Mitsu - I've always been suspect of boosted four cylinders making excess of 250 hp for a long-term period of high performance driving. The Subie less so than the Mitsu since it's a 2.5 vs. a 2.0 in the Mitsu.

217 99 Porsche Cayman RS Beil Stefan, Fischer Norbert, Dr. Althoff Edgar, Hulverscheid Paul 3 148 Laps
