Help with type and part numbers
I have been looking at my 1989 Carrera 3.2 Anniversary (ROW-orginally delivered to Hongkong) a bit more closely than usual and found the following part number on my left valve cover 964.105.111.1. Couldn't make out the one on the right.
That prompted me to look at the Porsche part number listing (got the PDF from the Porsche website) and those numbers are very different for the same part (start with 930). I then looked at my crankcase numbers which are: left: 930.101.103.6 right: 930.101.104.5 Again, these are different from the Porsche list. Last but not least the number on the throttle housing is 930.110.530.0 - different again. I'm confused. Did Porsche make any changes to the last of the 3.2s that are not documented or do I have something unusual on my hands? While I'm on the numbers topic, I had another look at the decal in the trunk lid that gives you VIN, option codes, etc. There are two that I don't understand: Type 911 331 & Eng Code 93020-33K-G5000 (I understand the 93020 and G5000, but what does the 33K mean?) Can anyone shed light on this? |
I'm no expert, but my guess is that you're looking at casting numbers, which are likely to be different from part numbers.
