How can I make my turn signal "Latch" better?

I removed my turn-signal assembly on the steering column for a little cleaning and a solder-fix. Anyway, I cleaned the contacts up and greased it a little. Put it all back together and everything works great, except:

when signal to turn right, the switch does not "latch" very well, so I have to hold it up there, or keep pushing it up when it falls down.

Has anyone had this experience and fixed it? Did I grease it too much? Is there a tab I could bend or a little adjustment I could make?

Thanks

My "new" switch does the same thing. I just write it off as a "feature" of twenty-year-old technology...

yep, its just old tech. I cured mine by switching to the new turn signal, but you will need to buy a washer/signal for the rightside as well since the new turn signal wont match the old style washer/signal.

Well it bugs me, but It doesn't bug me $300. Thanks anyway.
