Dansk sport, M+K sport or stock muffler?

I plan on putting SSI's on my 71 T with a stock 2.2 and will change the muffler at the same time. What are the experiences with a Dansk sport and M+K sport such as noise/sound levels, performance gains, quality etc. Or is a stock muffler just fine for a stock 2.2 T ?

I have a 3.2SS with SSI's in it. I went with the stock '74 muffler. It sounds good but not too loud, just a bit louder than the stock muffler. I should also state the disclaimer that I am not a fan of "loud pipes", I think they are tacky but that is just me.

I've heard an M&K 1-in 2-out muffler on an SC with a Dansk Pre-Muffler and the sound was great, not too loud but very healthy when on the throttle. The sport muffler may be just a bit louder. I've seen a few of Ben's mufflers up close and I have to say the quality of the materials and the welds is second to none. They're also much lighter than stock.

Euro3.2 with SSI's and M+K 2in1out. SW chip.

World of difference. Heaps more torque under 3000rpm. Heaps more. Revs much faster too and great up top to finish.

Ben's muffler is intoxicating. Light, well finished, cheap and amazing sound. No resonance. Not too loud at idle, "wolfs" at 3-4000rpm then screams up to a race car redline.

I'll have results on dyno in a couple of weeks. With a custom chip from Steve. His current chip has my car at 235bhp.

I have heard them all and seen them all. I would say they are all great. You will gain small amounts if any with a muffler change(for a 2.2 stock set up) in Hp but you will notice improved throttle response and will enjoy dumping some weight off the back of the car as well.

as for sound all of the muffler that I have heard were all very tolerable and gave the great sound you are probably after. each brand has a different tone but all accomplish the same basic thing.. Good luck with your search

Thanks for the replies so far! I must admit I am leaning towards and M+K because I understand they are lighter than stock, 15 lbs lighter, I believe. Also the M+K mufflers sold by our host, these are the same mufflers that are made by mb911, Ben, right?

I have a Dansk pre muffler and sport muffler, one in and one out. Not too loud but certainly more than a stock setup. I didn't notice any performance difference. There is no resonance inside the car at any rpm which is important. My son's love the sound, my wife puts up with it. We can still talk without shouting.
