OK, I'm bound to get this right. I need to know where the vacuum advance line from the distributor connects to on a 1978 911 SC. I've looked at the CIS website and done a lot of searching but I still can't find where that line plugs into. May someone supply a photo or point an arrow as to where this line plugs into? I would really appreciate it!
Thanks. ![]()

Well, I can't put an arrow on it. The connection is just left of the air adjustment screw, and left of the red cap, behind the engine. You'll have to feel around.

On my 77 C3, it plugs into the drivers side of the trottle body between you (as you look at it) and the throttle linkage on the lowest end of the trottle body closest to the airbox. It ties into a port on the throttle body that only sees vacuum when you are off the trottle.
If you don't get any vacuum there, you may need to check the idle position of your throttle butterfly. Mine was adjusted open too much by the PO and I had no vacuum.

Thank you Pat and Jubbie. I'm pretty sure my connection is near the back of the engine. I'm going to be doing an engine drop soon, so I'll connect it when I have my engine out.
