What hose is this?

The one hose in my engine looks cracked. I am somewhat of a newbie. I have caliper-rebuilding and rotor-replacing projects behind me, but I haven't delved into the engine yet.

Can someone tell me what the hose that I have pointed out in the attached diagram (hopefully I attach it correctly) is called and what it connects? It would be a big help. Does anyone know if this can be replaced without disturbing other engine components? It looks like it should be able to be replaced easily, but looks can be deceiving! Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it!

That's the heat exchanger hose going from the passenger's side heat exchanger to the air blower. It just brings air from the heat exhangers (under your car) to help cool your engine. There should be a band on both ends of the hose. Just unscrew the band from the bottom, and the band from the top end. Then you can easily pull it out and replace it with a new hose.
Hope this helps!

I think what is stated is incorrect. That hose actually supples air to the heat exchanger to be heated so that it can be used to heat the cabin of the car. In the engine bay is the heater blower which the hose in question is connected to. When you turn on the heater (for heat in the cabin) the fan turns on which helps circulate the air coming from the fan shroud more efficiently through the heat exchangers to the flapper boxes and into the cabin.

Either way, it is just an "air" hose. ;-) And it does travel down to the right (passenger) h/e.

Cool, thanks for the correction. I knew it was either one way or the other.
