Firing up newly installed engine. Oil pressure question.
Hi...I have just filled 'er with oil, and popped the coil wire off. I turned the ignition, and the oil pressure went up. How far up should it go?
I just want to make sure I'm ok before I go for it. Thanks. mto

I think its a good idea to pull the fuel pump fuse also so it does not water down the cylinder walls.
As for oil pressure probably max around 1bar |

It looks like I'm getting about 30 PSI on my gauge. Does that sound right?

Your set to go if you ask me..... 30psi on a cold cranking motor is perfect.
Just keep an eye on that gauge after it fires. Good luck |

I recently did this with mine before firing it up. Got 3 bars with starter motor only cranking for 15 to 20 seconds.
Please note - as part of some engine improvements, I installed the oil restrictors Wayne sells. These will increase oil pressure. The engine idles cold with ~4.5 bars. Once to full operating temp it idles with ~2.5 bars. Anything above 3000 rpm, it has ~4.5 bars.

I don't know Bar/PSI...but if 30 sounds good to you guys, then I feel pretty good about it.

Oil Pressure is good...fuel is in, but no dice. So, it's back to the wiring diagram tomorrow. Night!
