930 turbo keeps quitting

Help!

My problem: 930 turbo, stock, 1984 ROC.
Upgraded to the dual Kuehl AC condensers / 3 add fans, don’t think this is the problem just FYI incase. Started the car letting it run for awhile in prep for charging the sys. Noticed the temp above the second tit mark 1/8 inch below the red bar so shut it down for awhile. When restarting the car I had to crank it for awhile [not normal for this car] then had to work the throttle holding the RPM up for 15-20 seconds to keep it running. Vapor lock?? Later took it out for test drive and the temp still staying above the second tit mark. Outside air temp on freeway about 95deg, AC on. Would have tried with AC off except for the Real Problem! The engine just quit. Coasted to a stop, after 5-10 minutes was able to restart and drive ¼ mile before it quit again. I was able to do this several times till it finally would only start for a few seconds before quitting. The next day when cold would only run for 15-20 seconds and die [when it dies, a timing light stops blinking telling me the ign is failing. Also I can here the fuel pumps running when it quits. I can repeatedly restart and get 5-15 seconds runtime before quitting
?????????????????????

Mike

Have you tried offering it more money, a year end bonus, and a health plan?

I'm sorry...I just couldnt resist.

Does your car have the stock BOsch igntion box, or a Permatune? Heat related failures are often associated with them. Are you sure your fan belt is attached? The engine suddenly running hot is weird, assuming your oil levels are at least on the stick.

I have been suspisious of the bosch box from the get go, when it quits it acts like I turned the key off, I have a Cobra with a 6AL msd which did the exact same thing after it got hot. because of cost I thought about using the 6AL in the 930 but don't know if the stock dist will handle the spark voltage, and how does the car get its timing advance and boost retard info to the dist [through the bosch box or is it mechanical] have not studied this part of the ign sys.
Also the oil level is fine
