Source for Hella 118 lights for an early car?
I've been looking for Hella 118 foglights for a '69 to '73 911. You know the round lights that mount through the horn grille. I think these were recently available from Porsche, but are now listed as NLA.
Does anyone know a source for these lights, preferrably for the whole kit? If they're out there, I'm sure somebody here will know about them. Thanks. Last edited by reed930; 10-13-2003 at 03:19 AM.. |

They are still around. (Paging Eric Linden to the White Courtesy Phone?) Keep an eye on the web classifieds, ebay, and local swap meets. Also try the specialty parts houses such as Carquip.
Actually the lamps are a tad easier to find than the brackets these days. The "U" shaped battery box brackets have been repro'd by some Pelicanites but the swivel brackets are NLA I think. Stoddard might be able to dig some up for you. Good luck,

Oh yeah; there are at least two flavors of the lamps -- driving lamps and fog lamps. The driving lamps are getting extremely rare and expensive, but are IMHO what you really "want' if feasible. GeorgeK from Swizerland posted some for sale here not too long ago...

I think on eBay I just saw (last week?) a set of horn grill precur for driving lights with the seller also noting he was going to list the lights.

Hella 118
I have some available, they are new old stock, in the factory boxes.
They also come with the swivel brackets, which are NLA. I only have the fog lights available right now, I have clear reflector or amber reflector. These are the European type, which take an H --3 bulb, up to 100 W The lights that were on eBay last week were US type , which take a 35 W bulb. The main mounting bracket is available on eBay. I have occasionally seen the horn grills also on eBay, and yes there was a pair on eBay last week. The other option for you is to dremel your own, and have them chromed Please feel free to contact me, Eric Linden . 206-632-5158, or elinden@EarthLink.net |

First off, you've found a VERY old thread, and I am not selling any of my few remaining lights (just in case someone doesn't read the date on the thread...)
Hella lenses are no longer available, except for the US version fog lamp (it's a 914 lens). If you have tungsten bulbed fog lights, you're in luck, just get the correct lens from the dealer under the 914 part number. If you use h-3 or h-1 halogen bulbs...well, your SOL, as they are no longer available. Sorry, I don't have any. E
