Yeah...so out of character isn't it?

The motor is a VW Type I, 2180 cc, stroker crank, EFI with 48mm dual throttle bodies, Schaeffer turbo, adjustable waste gate running about 5-6lbs of boost as it only has 500 miles on the motor.

Trans is a 4 speed, with some fun parts...solid trans mounts and straps, freeway flyer final drive....

Disc brakes from a Karmann Ghia, 205 and 225/50 tires on 15 inch steel chromies with old school Porsche nipple hubcaps. All Porsche emblems, bumpers and trim have been removed except for door handles. The only visible logo are the "EMPI" crests on the hubcaps.

Five coats of PPG paint with 5 coats of clear.

Next plan is the intercooler and a little plumbing clean up. should be able to handle about 12lbs and put out a little over 210hp according to the specs.

Might put a pin stripe along both sides of the red stripe to make it stand out more.

slow day :D

pookie 06-01-2006 10:27 AM

O that thing is bad arse. How loud is it with that turbo?

Joe Bob 06-01-2006 10:33 AM

Not too bad....the turbo quiets it a bit, so does the 12 supertrapp discs that are welded onto the end...runs a bit rich but when INGO FINISHES with the Megasquirt it will be fully programable.

CB Performance, the maker of the kit, claims 200+ hp with 10+ lbs of boost and no intercooler needed.

Sorry, but I think an intercooler would be a good idea....so it's on the list.

Since I bought this project I have been planning on selling...so if anyone is interested...send me an email.

Located in Santa Barbara, CA.

A similar but stock powerplant sold for 34K....

It was owned by Alice Cooper...YES, I stole the paint scheme from him....

k9handler 06-01-2006 01:55 PM

I like the look of your beast better, then again you don't have pictures of an old man on it either! ha ha Although it is Alice Cooper!!!

lateapex911 06-01-2006 02:50 PM

I'll suspend judgement of the top until I see the red, but my gut likes the black better..;)

Ballsy car!

DByers 06-01-2006 02:55 PM
