65 Electrical problem (dies when I turn on the lights)
Wow! Am I lucky to be home. I took the 65 911 on another drive to dial in the carbs and do a basic systems check. After 14 years in the garage, I'm bound to find something. Everything was going great. I drove over to a buddy's place, showed him the car, and BS'd for a couple. I get in, start to drive away, and turn on the headlights. It was like someone turned off the switch. She just flat out died. Nothing. No lights, no radio, zilch. So I go around front and check the battery connections, everything is fine.
I get back in and fortunately now she's got juice. I fire it off and drive away (a little embarrassed). I wait until I get home - in the garage - and check the lights. As soon as I pull the switch out, she quits again. This time, after checking everything I can think of, there's still no juice. What I know: 1. New battery. Voltmeter says 12.75 volts. 2. Terminals clean. 3. Ground strap and connections clean and tight. 4. All fuses, OK. 5. Headlights are H-4's (55/60 bulbs) Any thoughts?

Nevermind....cleaned up a few grounds, plus the horn relay. Everything now works 4.0

The car just wanted some attention.
