CIS PROBLEMS Please Help!!!
 

Ok, I am having a bad time with my CIS. IT is flooding the cylinders when I turn on the key. I removed an injector and when you turn on the ignition, a solid spray of fuel continually flows. Is this right?

1976 911S 2.7 been sitting for a year, the FD plunger moves freely.

Ok, I have learned alot in the past week. Thanks Jim for your post. I checked the CSV and the air flow switch and they are connected correctly. I also checked the airflow switch and is is functioning correctly also. So today I was out there tring to figure out why the engine is flooding and discovered it is only flooding on the right side (passenger). When I turn on the key the three right injectors are spraying a perfect pattern of fuel and the left side is dry. Any ideas on this problem? When I say flooding I mean blowing raw fuel from the headers and lots of it.

You may have some bad injectors, or they may be clogged and able to be cleaned. The spray should be a continuous fairly wide even cone shape. If you search I'm sure you'll find some photos of acceptable spray patterns. There is also a test to check flow rate. I suppose it's possible you have some clogged fuel lines, but 3 on one side sounds like quite a coincidence. It's also possible your fuel distributor is clogged. Someone recently did a very good thread on dismantling and cleaning his. Do you have a Bentley's Manual?

Thanks Paul, The main problem I am having is when I turn on the key I get alot of fuel out of the three right side injectors. It was my understand that when the key was turned on there should be no fuel coming from the injectors.

Jim, the fuel pump runs all the time. So it should only run when the car is running or cranking over correct? The three injectors that are spraying are all next to each other on the FD. However all of the injectors are "wet" but the three do spray all the time.
