Nothing Like Getting Something for Free and it Costs You!

So a buddy gives me a free rearview mirror for the Targa (my day-night flipper doesn't work), and while trying to get the old mirror off, busted the windshield! Damn, I hate that! Old glass was kind of tired with chips anyway.

Perfect excuse to throw in a nice new seal that will, in all liklihood, cut down on wind-noise in the cabin. My original windshield seal was rotting away at the top, right in the middle. I replaced it, and it's like night and day Hugh.

Hugh,

If your seal is in good shape, I have an 84 windshield in good shape sitting in my garage just taking up space that you are welcome to. I tried selling it for awhile and realized that nobody wanted it so if it'll help, it's yours.

Chris

Hey,

Isn't this what got him in trouble in the first place. Next he'll end up getting a whole new car.

Chris:

That's great! My daughter is driving back up from San Diego today, maybe I can get her to stop by. If not, I'll drive down to Anaheim and meet you. Definitely worth a case of your favorite beer.

Sorry to hear about that, Hugh. Sounds like not all proper safety precautions and procedures were in place. They ought to have someone who inspects for that kind of thing.

Chris (84 Porsche)

Thanks! My daughter picked up the windshield on her way back from San Diego in Anaheim. She said you even put some air in the tires of the Mazda. What a true Pelican. It looks great, and its tinted to boot. I sent Chris a check for a case of beer. My daughter (20) said he's cute too.

Hugh,

Thank you for the kind words. I am so glad I could help. Your daughter was very sweet. You might be surprised, I only have a few years on her. I am in my mid 20s. I am looking forward to meeting you in person on the Big Bear run. All my best.

Chris
