Targa -> cab -> targa conversion?
Before you think I'm nuts, here's some background info:
-I've got a '85 911 Targa that I'm parting out. A Pelican makes a post in the used parts section looking for a targa bar and rear glass. I tell him I have the parts available and he sends me a PM. He has a cab that was originally a targa. Now he wants to convert the car back to a targa. Last night I started thinking that to convert the car to a cab the inner targa bar had to be cut off. Correct? If this is the correct then if he wanted to convert back to a targa then the inner targa bar would have to be welded back on the chassis. Is this also correct? The two links I was using for reference: http://www.rennlight.com/howto/cab/ http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=269420&perpage=20&highl ight=targa%20cab%20conversion&pagenumber=1 Is adding a targa bar back even possible? Besides the bar it looks like other sheetmetal was removed which would also need to be added back. Has anyone done this? Thanks for the help, -Scott |
yes
yes yes i dont know |
I figured the conversion would be pretty much simple. I will get with jon at black forest racing in the morning as see how much of a hassle its gonna be. Im pretty set on transforming in back into a targa.

I can't even imagine what it would take to get the targa top to fit after that...
